However, for now let’s meet the one who is going to kick the whole shebang off: Katarzyna ‘Kasia’ Niewiadoma. The Polish national with a stellar career path made her debut in professional ranks aged 19 and currently rides under the colours of UCI Women’s WorldTeam Canyon/SRAM Racing, and will be until 2024. Her explosive stats include podium successes at The Women’s Tour, European Under-23 Road Race Championships, Grand Prix Elsy Jacobs, La Flèche Wallonne Féminine, Giro Rosa, and an incredibly long list of others. She is also a former Polish national champion in both the road race and time trial events and currently lives and trains in the northern Catalonian city of Girona, Spain.
With her sharp observation skills, expert knowledge, and witty quips, Kasia will offer commentary on various races including some of the classics, advice on recovery from intense periods of racing and training, and also on nutrition, specifically delving into the issue of eating disorders within women’s cycling, and many more interesting topics.
Furthermore, as a member of a UCI team scheduled to race at the Tour, she will give us exclusive insights into pro-level participation in the mother of all bicycle races. Kasia will cover the preparation and training phase, altitude camp, stage races, give us insider looks into her team’s environment and routines before “the big one”, and much more.
