Groenewegen Will Return to Tour de France and Other Cool News from the World of Cycling

By Monica Buck

Another Monday is here, and so is our news from the world of cycling. So, what did you miss?

Dylan Groenewegen‘s big plans

The Dutchman already received the green light from the BikeExchange Jayco team to once again hunt stage wins at the Tour de France. Groenewegen won four stages between 2017 and 2019. The 28-year-old wasn‘t selected in 2020 due to Jumbo-Visma GC’s strategy after that the infamous crash with Fabio Jakobsen happened in Poland in August 2020. Groenewegen returned to racing in May 2021 at the Giro d’Italia. After capping a few victories, he parted ways with Jumbo-Visma and is set to race for the Australian outfit BikeExchange Jayco.

“I love the Tour and am very happy that I can return to this race again this year,” he told Wielerflits. “I have had my best successes in the Tour. As a sprinter, you want to perform on that big stage. My biggest challenge is to fight for the stage wins there again.”

Do you think he’ll be able to do that? Let us know!
