Damiano Caruso wins stage 9
The Bahrain Victorious rider won in a stunning manner while separating from the breakaway on stage nine, adding to his impressive performance earlier in the year at the Giro. He will now wear the polka dot jersey, previously held by Romain Bardet.
However, a lot of interesting stuff happened a bit behind Damiano Caruso. The GC fight got underway. Adam Yates (Ineos Grenadiers) threw everything he had at Primož Roglič (Jumbo-Visma) but the Slovenian didn’t look phased. Eventually, the red-jersey holder simply rode away alongside Enric Mas (Movistar). Roglič finished second and further prolonged his lead.
Do you think anyone can beat him?
