Tibco – Silicon Valley Bank and Team NTT Win the Virtual Tour de France and Other News from the World of Cycling

By Monica Buck

Another Monday is here and our news from the world of cycling with it. So, what did you miss?

Lauren Stephens wins on the Champs-Élysées

What a performance by the Tibco – Silicon Valley Bank’s squad! Going into the final stage, the American team had already claimed the overall and polka dot jersey classifications. However, they wanted that Škoda Green Jersey as well. And over the six intermediate sprints they beat Canyon-SRAM and got it. To top it all off, Lauren Stephens surpassed April Tacey by seven-hundredths of a second to claim the stage win.

Team NTT dominates the Men’s Virtual Tour

Will Clarke took a surprising win on the virtual Champs-Élysées. It was NTT’s Edvald Boasson Hagen who sprinted to the front, but without a power-up to use, his team-mate Ryan Gibbons caught up to him. However, Will Clarke had the last say and won the glory. Filippo Ganna (Ineos) finished second and Gibbons crossed the line third in the final stage of the Virtual Tour de France.
