By Monica Buck

Another Monday is here and our news from the world of cycling with it. So, what did you miss?

The champion is staying

Geraint Thomas had plenty of offers to choose from after winning this year’s Tour de France, but as it seems, he won’t be changing jerseys after all.

“Obviously, there are some teams interested, but I am happy here and it seems to be working at the moment,” Thomas said. “I know they (Sky bosses) had a meeting today and I know we’re pretty close. So hopefully it’ll all be sorted in the next few days.”

The 32-year-old should be looking at a deal worth £3.5 million per year according to The Telegraph.

Ullrich in deep trouble

The 1997 Tour de France winner travelled in a private jet from Mallorca to Frankfurt where he planned to start attending therapy. However, just a few hours later, he was arrested after assaulting a prostitute. Ullrich was reportedly under the influence of drugs and strangled the woman “until her eyes turned black”.

The winner of the 1997 Tour de France was arrested in Mallorca, following an altercation with his neighbour. Ullrich reportedly jumped the fence of Til Schweiger and threatened the actor while he hosted a party.
