Another GC win for Team Sky
Geraint Thomas didn’t allow any surprises in the last stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné and controlled his GC opponents until the very last 200 metres. Then Adam Yates attacked and overtook the solo escapee Daniel Navarro in the closing metres. Bardet finished third while Thomas crossed the finish line just 19 seconds after the Mitchelton-Scott pro, securing his title. Thomas became only the fifth British rider to win the event. And he made a loud claim for team leadership should Chris Froome’s salbutamol case result in his absence from the Tour de France.
