The Dutchman makes it four
Dylan Groenewegen (LottoNL-Jumbo) continues to prove his amazing form in the beginning of the 2018 season, having won four races already. At Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne he relied heavily on his team-mates who first helped to close down a large breakaway lead by the likes of Greg Van Avermaet (BMC Racing) and Jasper Stuyven (Trek-Segafredo) and then chased a late move of three riders. The last survivor of the three was Julien Vermote, who was caught just 150 metres from the line as Arnaud Démare (FDJ) opened the sprint. The Dutchman was waiting behind him, however, and managed to get past Démare before crossing the line.

Dumoulin’s bad luck continues
After suffering yet another mechanical failure at the Abu Dhabi Tour, Tom Dumoulin lost his cool and threw his bike to the ground. The 27-year-old had to get back on his bike, however, and ride on as the team car was nowhere near him at the time. He eventually crossed the line in 54th place and lost the chance of a top 10 finish.
