Michał Kwiatkowski wins Volta ao Algarve
Geraint Thomas was unable to hold his lead in the final stage and lost to his Polish team-mate. Kwiatkowski launched an attack on the final climb of stage five from a breakaway group with around 2km to go. He managed to beat Ruben Guerreiro (Trek-Segafredo) into second and Serge Pauwels (Dimension Data) into third. The peloton, containing Geraint Thomas, crossed the finish line at 1-47 down. Kwiatkowski continues to prove he’s in fine form at the beginning of the season.
