There was a lot of speculation over the Brit joining Strava back in 2016, when a mysterious account of “Luke Skywalker” appeared on the social network. The rider in question, who was using a photo of Anakin Skywalker as a profile picture, accompanied Team Sky’s Ian Boswell during training rides in South Africa, securing pretty much all the KOM’s available in the process. There is absolutely no doubt about the identity now, as Chris joined Strava under his real name. You can check out his profile HERE.
Just yesterday, Froome rode almost 200 kilometres with an elevation of 2,840 metres in 6 hours 1 minute and 50 seconds. That Giro d’Italia training must really hurt. The biggest ride he’s done so far came last Sunday when he set out at 5AM for a 224.5-kilometre ride with an average speed of 37.9kmh. Wow.
We certainly hope Froome keeps uploading his rides to Strava throughout the whole season, giving us something to chase in the future!
