The motorbike crash
“It shouldn’t have happened,” Geraint Thomas said after the unfortunate crash at the Giro d’Italia, and we couldn’t agree more with him. A parked police motorbike caused Kelderman (Sunweb) and a bunch of others to crash, leaving Thomas and others trailing over 5 minutes to Nairo Quintana in the pink jersey.
“I got back on, I got to the finish, but I knew deep down there was no coming back from that. I was on the floor for quite a while and then waiting to get a bike and everything. It was just a shame because that shouldn’t happen,” Thomas said after the stage.

The Orica-Scott sports director Matt White believes Team Movistar should have stopped and waited for the rest of the peloton.
“I think the decision Movistar made was incorrect. There was no break they were chasing, it was a downhill section. Everyone was aware of what happened in that crash. The best decision on a sporting front would’ve been to slow down for one or two minutes, it would’ve given time for guys to get off the deck. There was no need to push the pace as they did. It’s disappointing, because I have a lot of respect for that team but I think they made a poor decision today.”
Do you agree with him?

Red Hook Criterium crash
Crashes are hardly a rare occurrence in this New York race as it is contested on fixies, but this one at the beginning of the women’s finale is definitely worth your attention. One of the riders hit a cone on the side of the road and set off a chain reaction taking out half of the entire field. Luckily only one contestant was forced to drop out after the crash.

Lance is alive and well
Fake news has been spreading around the social media about Armstrong’s death, so he took to Instagram to clarify things. “The rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated,” he quoted Mark Twain, and his face expression really said it all.
