Ultimately, it is the impact of these kind of events that confirm how much children love cycling. A fast and fun sport, riding a bicycle also gives them freedom and independence to get around. Participating in races and other organized events is a great way for them to build confidence and develop both physical and mental strength.
Seeing these kids race is a reminder that healthy self-esteem is like a child’s armour against the challenges of the world. Kids who know their strengths and weaknesses and feel good about themselves seem to have an easier time handling conflicts and resisting negative pressures. The event was full of smiles and celebrations!
It is also great that even at such a young age, these little guys are already part of a community that will provide them with support, friendship, and opportunities throughout their childhood and into adulthood. A sense of optimism dominated the event and we are already looking forward to next year!
