How to Make an Environmentally Friendly Foodie Trip

By Tereza Antonova

We don’t need to tell you about the benefits of cycling when it comes to sustainability. This guy, however, found a way to push the ‘sustainable’ narrative to a whole new level.

In the summer of 2020, Jérôme Zindy decided to take a trip around his home in the region of Avignon to discover the local producers and their products. A nice summer activity, right? Well, Jerome made it even more interesting as he chose an solar energy-powered e-bike to get around.

The trip happened to become one of the best experiences of Jerome’s life and led to a decision to continue in the endeavour.

And so the idea of the ‘100 km Around Strasbourg’ was born. The project shows that you can enjoy yourself, discover and enjoy local production gems, and act in an environmentally friendly manner at the same time.

Jerome left Strasbourg on April 26 and made his way back on May 23. You can check the videos from his travels on his Instagram and who knows – maybe get inspired to make a gourmet journey yourself?
